Billur Turan is a production designer based in İstanbul and London.
 
She recently designed a Netflix original TV series; İstanbul Encyclopedia, which is now in post-production.

The latest feature she designed, Aftersun(2022) was awarded the Cannes Critics' Week French Touch Prize of the Jury. She has won the Best Art Director award at Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival 2021 for Anatolian Leopard(2021) which had received the FIPRESCI Prize at Toronto International Film Festival earlier same year. Her other feature film credits include The Cemil Show(2021), which premiered at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2021 and Together, We Shall Die(2021) which competed at İstanbul International Film Festival 2022 for the Golden Tulip.
 
Billur has a BSc from Istanbul Technical University and an MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art. She crossed over into the film industry in 2012 after working as a product and interior designer in London. She has since worked nationally and internationally, in feature films, short films, and commercials; managing varied budgets and creating sets both in the studio and on location. She loves the collaborative nature of film making and values professional and personal relationships she has built over the years, with directors, producers, cinematographers as well as art department colleagues.
 
Besides her work in film, her designs have been exhibited internationally including at Milan Design Fair, Roundhouse, London, Prague Quadrennial and Bauhaus Dessau. 
 
Billur was selected to Berlinale Talents in 2023. She holds BAFTA Connect  and European Film Academy memberships.
